Welcome to my site!

I started taking photographs in my teens, captivated by how light interacts with our environment.  Photography allows me to remove myself from a situation so that I can bear witness to nature and people, acting as a mirror rather than a participant.  In my earlier years, I was involved with my school’s yearbook photos. Later, when I became a mother, I could capture my children’s and their friends’ special moments, bearing witness to those moments that slip so quickly through our fingers. They are all grown now into mothers and fathers themselves.  So now I photograph their children.

Currently, I focus on the landscape and my grandchildren.  The way the light trickles through the trees on a snowy morning, or lonely cows standing still in the afternoon light. Old worn tree bark that so resembles an aging person’s face.  One of my grandchildren standing by the window as light dances on her face.  Each photograph tells a story of one particular moment I was able to bear witness to.
